As a part of The HER Network, you have exclusive access to several activities and services aimed to equip you with the skills, a strong network, and confidence to lead impactful careers in public and global health. 

HER Events and Panels

Expert and peer driven experiences designed to connect students and early-career professionals in public and global health with real voices in the field:

  • Interactive component (e.g. small group breakout rooms, Q&A periods or one on one sessions)

  • Attendees can ask personalized questions, network directly with panelists, and take away practical tips

  • Includes expert sessions with professors and industry leaders

  • Bi-annual free workshops open to everyone​​​​​

HER Toolkit Workshops and Skill Building Sessions

Practical workshops designed to give members the skills they need to succeed in today’s public and global health landscape:

  • Both technical and professional development topics (e.g. how to write a policy brief, real-world simulations, crafting resumes, public speaking etc.)

  • Led by experienced professionals or peer mentors, with relevant content tailored to the challenges of early-career professionals.​​​​​

HER Story Blog and Spotlight

A digital storytelling space for members to showcase their passions, impacts, insights, journeys and achievements within public and global health:

  • Peer-led platform that grows with our community to foster inspiration and relatability

  • Highlights diverse voices, from undergraduates and MPH graduates navigating the job market to professionals reflecting on lessons learned.

  • The HER Network will be "Spotlighting" one member per quarter to showcase our community's voices. 

HER Open House (Free Workshops)

The HER Open House is our bi-annual, free workshop series open to the entire public and global health community:

  • Sessions designed to give students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals a welcoming entry point into The HER Network while also providing tangible career-building value.

  • Features interactive activities, networking opportunities, and practical skill-building workshops that highlight the unique strengths of our community.​

HER Space: Women's Wellness Corner (Sessions and Panels)

Showing an intentional part of The HER Network that acknowledges the personal side of building a career:

  • Workshops, discussions, and resources to create space to help navigate challenges such as workplace dynamics, leadership as young professionals, work-life balance and imposter syndrome.

  • Designed with inclusivity in mind, HER Space also offers practical wellness sessions facilitated by external parties such as meditation, desk stretches, and simple strategies to support balance in daily routines. 

E-Book and Resources

  • Our E-book and digital resource library is a go-to toolkit for navigating careers in public and global health:

  • E-book: tips and tricks, industry information, career pathways, job market insights and much more. Each chapter is designed to be practical, featuring case examples and tangible resources tailored to our specific field.

  • Resources: curated resources including templates, job boards, application checklists, writing guides, online course recommendations and more.
